Our field work, which is an important part of our "Energy Efficiency and Reduction of Greenhouse Gases in Aluminium Manufacturing Facilities" project, which is carried out with the cooperation of our university's Aluminium Test Training Research Center and GALSİAD (Entrepreneurial Aluminium and Industrialists Businessmen Association) and the support of Istanbul Development Agency, continues rapidly.
Within the scope of the project, which aims to increase the production capacity and diversity of the aluminium sector and to achieve the highest efficiency in lighting, air conditioning, energy conversion and heat transfer without causing a decrease in the production quality and quantity of the industry, tests in companies producing aluminium profiles, castings and plates are and measurement activities are carried out.
Until now, testing and measurement studies have been carried out in Mertcan Metal, Aluneg Aluminum, Altınel Aluminum, Yavuz Aluminum, Okyanus Aluminum, Naki Metal, Alfa Metal and Onat Profil. Before starting the tests, our engineers, who conduct exploration studies in factories, together with a responsible person assigned by the company, perform thermal imaging, temperature measurement, energy and harmonic analysis tests, flue gas analysis and soot tests. The tests performed and their results are presented to the company officials in a report.
At the end of the studies, the final report will be prepared for the target group enterprises by determining the production-based energy density, TEP (Ton Equivalent Oil) values and cost analysis, and contributing to the minimization of energy losses by helping the enterprises with the necessary regulations.
