Shahi cannon produced in our university's Aluminum Test Training and Research Center (ALUTEAM), was presented to our Chairman of the Board of Trustees İsmail Gerçek and our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Duman by ALUTEAM Director Asst. Assoc. Dr. Ebubekir Koç.
The Shahi Cannon, which was drawn by Turkish engineers under the leadership of Fatih Sultan Mehmet and used in the conquest of Istanbul, was modeled in 3D at the ALUTEAM Rapid Prototyping Laboratory and prepared with an industrial printer.
For the 562th anniversary of the conquest, 562 Şahi cannons were produced on the basis of 2 pieces of twisted Şahi ball, which was poured during the reign of the Conqueror and exhibited at the Fort Pliers Nelson Museum in Portmouth, England.
