The opening lesson of the Aluminum Construction Systems Test and Training Laboratory Project training activities developed within ALUTEAM was held with the participation of our esteemed teachers.
By combining the research capacity of the academy with the production experience of the industry, ALUTEAM contributes to the product development activities that will enable the companies producing aluminum to differentiate in areas with high added value. Cephe Academy Professional Development Trainings started within this scope started to be implemented with the first lesson. The classes held between 18:30 and 22:00 on weekdays are scheduled to continue for three days. The first lesson run by Assoc. Dr. Genco Berkin which’s opening speech was delivered by our Center Director Dr. Ebubekir Koç and also General Manager of Karakalem Cephe Design Nevin Güney Tok had been in this lesson.
In addition to the sector employees, the instructor staff formed for the professional development trainings that started to be given to students who continue their education in this field were designed to bring the academia and the industry world together. The courses that will be carried out in our center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be completed in approximately four months. The training curriculum consists of ten different courses on Introduction to Facade Systems, Facade Systems, Façade Design and Survey, Statics, Materials, Project Preparation Techniques, Manufacturing and Assembly Theories, Standards and Tests, Quality Control and finally Practical Application. Following the presentations of expert instructors in their field, the lessons also attract attention with question and answer sections.
The program, carried out with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency, is offered to participants free of charge. With in the scope of training activities that will also provide sector clustering, an important gap will be filled. In other words, the Facade Academy, where the training activities initiated within the scope of the Aluminum Construction Systems Test and Training Laboratory Project (ASTEL) are carried out, and the system testing laboratories that have started to be established, will provide an infrastructure in accordance with international standards that will meet the basic needs of aluminum industrialists and facade applicators.
What is ASTEL Project?
Istanbul Development Agency's TR10 / 18 / YMP / 0038 coded Aluminum Construction Systems Test and Training Laboratory Project (ASTEL) is supported by the Istanbul Development Agency's 2018 Innovative and Creative Istanbul Financial Support Program. The project was developed in cooperation with Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University, the Entrepreneurial Aluminum Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association, and the Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Union. Window Manufacturers Quality Aluminum Industrialists Association of Turkey and continue to be developed with the support of the Association. With the "Cephe Academy" established for the development and dissemination of knowledge-based building systems within the scope of the project, a structure that supports and enlarges each other will be created through the testing activities to be carried out by completing a professional training program.
