ALUTEAM Continues Activities By Developing With ASTEL Project

ALUTEAM, by combining the research capacity of the academy and the production experience of the industry, contributes to the product development activities that will enable companies producing aluminum to differentiate in high value added areas. ALUTEAM operates as a training, research and test center within the framework of university-industry cooperation. In this context, ALUTEAM, adding new works, continues its development with the Aluminum Building Systems Test and Training Laboratory Project.

The aluminum sector supplies system testing needs from foreign-certified laboratories that are under the control of sector representatives or from laboratories abroad. In both methods, the resources of our country are transferred to foreign capital and the big capital representatives of the sector do not take a joint action against this situation. With the start of the project is to ensure that the resources of our country remain in domestic on the other hand, cooperation among the representatives of the sector will be created.

The TR10 / 18 / YMP / 0038 coded Aluminum Building Systems Test and Training Laboratory Project (ASTEL) is supported under the Istanbul Development Agency's the year of 2018 Innovative and Creative Istanbul Financial Support Program. The project was developed with the cooperation of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University, Entrepreneur Aluminum Industrialists and Businessmen Association, Istanbul Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Union. With the project of ASTEL aimed to reach companies producing and applying aluminum construction systems; companies and architects designing building systems and accessories; the researchers, academicians and students who want to work in building systems. Within the scope of this project the system will start processing which contains development and dissemination of information-based building systems and a structure supporting and enhancing each other through testing and training activities by transforming studies into a professional training program with the "Facade Academy".

Thanks to the system tests laboratories that started the installation, a infrastructure which meets the basic needs of aluminum industrialists and facade applicators will be established. So that the data to be obtained from the laboratory will be generalized, product and production will be developed and high value added products will be revealed. With all these added values, one of the most important services of the project will be the development of a competent and experienced workforce in the architectural application areas of aluminum.
