Within the scope of the "Energy Efficiency and Reduction of Greenhouse Gases in Aluminium Manufacturing Plants" project carried out with the cooperation of our University Aluminium Test Training Research Center and GALSİAD (Entrepreneurial Aluminum and Industrialists Businessmen Association) and the support of Istanbul Development Agency, our seminar on "Efficiency and Energy Management in Furnaces Used in Aluminum Production and Shaping" was held on Friday, June 5, 2015.

The seminar, presented by Metkim Metal Technical Manager Erman Car, focused on raw materials for the aluminum industry, furnaces used in aluminum production, energy management in furnaces and energy efficiency. Erman Car stated that although aluminum is the youngest metal, it has a wider usage area than plastic and steel materials due to its excellent properties, and these areas are expanding with new material designs every day.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of our University Prof. Dr. Fevzi Yılmaz, Faculty of Engineering Faculty Members and industrialists from the aluminum industry participated in the seminar and ideas were exchanged.
